I’m the author of six books, the most recent of which is The Unwanted Sound of Everything We Want. I am also a contributing editor of Harper’s Magazine and a freelance writer and lecturer. Though I have written on many subjects, ranging from public education to end-of-life care, much of my writing has to do with matters of politics, religion, and justice.
