1. Understanding of the Position and Self-Qualification
The PM (Project Management) role at HanmiGlobal plays a crucial part in overseeing the full life cycle of construction projectsfrom planning and design through procurement, construction, and deliveryensuring that each phase is executed efficiently, safely, ethically, and within budget and schedule constraints. It involves cross-functional coordination, contract and risk management, value engineering, quality assurance, and stakeholder communication. A PM is not simply a manager of schedules and documents, but a proactive orchestrator who ensures seamless collaboration between design teams, contractors, suppliers, and clients, while upholding safety, sustainability, and cost efficiency as central pillars.
I believe I am a suitable candidate for this role due to the following qualifications:
First, my academic foundation in architectural engineering has provided me with a strong understanding of construction systems, material properties, and design documentation. During university, I worked on multiple studio projects simulating real-world construction conditions, from schematic design to detailing and sequencing, using tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Primavera. I also completed coursework in construction management, contract law, and construction economics, which deepened my knowledge in scheduling, budgeting, and procurement processes.
Second, I have cultivated hands-on skills in construction site coordination through an internship at a general contractor. In the early years, I hope to strengthen my foundation in project controls by gaining hands-on experience in cost estimation, contract administration, risk analysis, and quality control procedures. I want to be a “sponge” in the field, absorbing practical knowledge from seasoned PMs while also contributing actively through diligent documentation, reporting, and coordination. I believe that attention to detail and commitment to processes are the building blocks of project success.
In the medium term, I aspire to lead project units responsible for specific scopessuch as structural coordination, procurement strategy, or sustainability integration. I am especially interested in value engineering and how client requirements can be aligned with constructability and cost-efficiency. I also want to contribute to the digital transformation of project delivery through the use of BIM and data analytics in forecasting and decision-making.
In the long term, I envision becoming a strategic PM who takes ownership of full project life cycles, manages teams across disciplines and geographies, and contributes to HanmiGlobal’s growth in global markets.
