Hayao Miyazaki has been directed such a masterpiece like Howl`s Moving Castle, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke and Laputa: Castle in the Sky. I think inspiring is the word that I think best one how I feel about all his work including My Neighbor Totoro, This was the fourth full length animation I ever watched. Like other works, I was blown away at the attention to color, sounds, characters, and themes. This animation really conveys the feeling of the world it depicts. What really impressed me in all his works was the depiction of people. They are not vicious or stupid for the sake of slapstick comedy. The little girls are portrayed as two happy, laughing kids enjoying life. The problems they face in this animation affect them in ways that they might affect ordinary children.
