KT Corp., the distributor of the iPhone in Korea, is at loggerheads with Skype, a leading Internet telephony operator, over the Luxembourg-based firm’s plan to offer a cheap call service for the smartphone users, potentially curtailing telecom firm’s earnings.
Skype has released an updated mobile application, Skype 2.0, which allows users to make free or low-cost calls over the wireless Internet. It announced Tuesday the 3G call service will be available to Korean users.
