Ex) Don’t do it. You may end up losing all your money.
Don’t do it. You might end up losing all your money
→ you may ~ 가 돈을 잃게 될 가능성이 더 큼

2. 과거사실을 추측
may/might have pp 의 형태로 쓰임
a) He may have passed the exam. : I don’t know whether he retook it or not. (그가 통과했는지 안 했는지 모르는 상태)
b) He might have passed the exam. : He retook it the day after.
(가능성은 있으나 실제로 통과하진 못했다.)
