Generation: absorption으로 electron이 excite 되면서 electron-hole pair가 생성된다
Separation: 이 두 carrier들이 다시 recombination 되지 않도록 separation 되어야 한다.
Collection: electron과 hole을 collect 하여 photocurrent 가 생성된다.
Quantum dots are particles of semiconductor material with the size so small that the electron energies that can exist within them are limited. These energy levels, defined by the size of quantum dots, in turn define the bandgaps. The dots can be grown to any needed size, allowing them to be tuned across a wide variety of bandgaps without changing the underlying material or construction techniques.[6] In typical preparations, the tuning is accomplished by varying the duration or temperature of synthesis.
