    1. What is ‘Modernity’?
    There has been intense focus on various dimension of modernity. From the time of Hegel to present, modernity has been conceived most broadly as the 'new age' which emerged from feudalism and the Renaissance.

    2. 'Scientific Socialism' vs. 'Philosophy of Praxis'
    'Orthodox Marxism' provided Social Democratic interpretation of Marxism as a theory of 'scientific socialism’. This version of Marxism was deterministic in two dimensions: the economic base determined the superstructure, and laws of history, rooted in the economy, determined the trajectory of all social life. This Orthodox Marxism was also scientistic.
