How appeared the standard of beauty? It can be attributed to the increasing and developing of mass media. Things or person that are nice to look are almost shown on the screen. The public take the standard of beauty for granted and want to be the part of the screen. In this situation, the ads of plastic surgery such as comparing before & after are exposed to the public. Then, many of them get plastic surgery and also negative effect happened such as side effect or addiction.

외모(용모)가 개인간의 우열뿐 아니라 인생의 성패까지 좌우한다고 믿어 외모에 지나치게 집착하는 경향 또는 그러한 사회 풍조를 루키즘이라고 합니다. 곧 외모가 연애·결혼 등과 같은 사생활은 물론, 취업·승진 등 사회 생활 전반까지 좌우하기 때문에 외모를 가꾸는 데 많은 시간과 노력을 기울이게 된다는 것입니다. 외모지상주의의 등장에 대한 배경과 사람들의 인식에 대한 글 입니다.
