    The author tries to show us the contrast between the ideal world and the ordinary pleasures of life, symbolizing the ideal world of the soul and the senses with the Moon and representing the world of money with Sixpence.

    Today, many people forsake their ideals and dreams for the pleasures of an ordinary life. They tend to pursue the sixpence at the cost of giving up their moon. However, is this materialistic pursuit really important? We need to be changed. Wouldn't it be better for us to enter the Moon's world first?
