These days, mobile industry is rapidly changing by data,3G.
Customers want faster service with mass storage, and mobile carriers are struggling to secure a new technology to meet their needs and the frequency bandwidth for this new technology.
No exception for KT either, they are actively carrying forward a LTE service. Along the way, KT tried to turn 2G frequency into the LTE service, and now they are forcibly closing the 2G service.
First, Korea Communications Commission didn't permit this because this closing can be a damage for the customers using 2G. But in November, They took a side of KT, with a condition that guarantee the 2G customers' rights.
However, in opposition to KT, 150,000 2G users still argue their rights and this resulted a suit, and finally the judge took a side of 2G users 2 days before the closing day.
Purpose of Study
When we watch the case of abroad and trend, 2G service will be closed someday. In this inevitable process, we look for a solution that avoids the clash above and make many people can accept it.
To achieve our goal, we find the accurate background(technical, business) why 2G service is closed, and investigate the opinion of both corporation and customers. Also, find out a similar case in abroad, and finally synthesize all data and make a reasonable conclusion
