So, I, as a shareholder of Danone, cannot accept this kind of virtue sacrificing shareholders’ interest. Can this business model bring a firm good reputation? Not sure! We, shareholders, don’t have any reason to hear even bad reputations, like “It’s making poverty more tolerable rather than eliminating it.”
Furthermore, it’s not a good time to be a ‘returner’. The climate is not yet matured, and it’s not obliged, not sure for the good image of GrameenDanone. I think this kind of business model maybe possible at 2020 or even later. So now, it’s time to grow firm’s competitive edge, expand more globally, advertising our brand, and make more profit.
